All major components
(glass, ceramic, metal parts, shades, etc.) used in our lighting products
are also manufactured in the USA. |
 |
We go out of our
way to find electrical components, (ie. switches, transformers, sockets,
wire), bulbs, etc., also made the USA. We are not always successful. However,
we always use top quality components from leading manufacturers such as
GE, Philips, Leviton, etc. |
 |
|
| Why
is the "Made in the USA" label so important? |
 |
Jobs: Every
product that does not say "Made in the USA", signifies jobs that
have been exported to other countries. |
 |
Jobs: Relatively
well paying manufacturing jobs with benefits are usually replaced by low
or minimum wage jobs many with no benefits. Not affected? What about your
spouse, children, grandchildren, relatives, and/or friends. |
 |
$$$: People
in better paying jobs have more money to spend. If you own a store, restaurant,
service, etc., your profits depend on other people being able to afford
what you sell. |
 |
Quality: "Made
in the USA" is still synonymous with high quality and durability. Not all
imports are bad. However, when an American company chooses to manufacture
its products in "low cost manufacturing" countries, they usually do so
to minimize their cost. Quality is often the first casualty of cost reduction. |
